Roald Dahl is the ingenious creator of characters such as Matilda, Willy Wonka, The Twits and Mr Fox who coloured our childhood and taught us some of lifes’ most valuable lessons. The 13th of September is National Roald Dahl Day and I thought it an ideal time to share the most important lesson he showed me- BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN 💛
The Twits is probably one of my favourite’s:
“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.
A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
Beauty is imbedded in happiness 💫
(Did you know hysterical laughter is actually good for your health? It relaxes the entire body and relieves stress. So there you go happiness makes you beautiful and healthy!✔️)
I will forever be thankful that he taught me, and continues to teach children, that beauty comes from within 🌟
