PIXI Review

Pixi by Petra Review

Confession: I ate pizza every single day of my cruise… do I regret it? Not really. Did my skin suffer? Yes indeed.

Over the festive season I got given this cute little Pixi skincare trio by my Aunt and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Following my cruise my skin was in desperate need of some TLC. I had broken out quite badly, I think mostly from more greasy food than I was used to, and had reacted to some shampoo – so I was feeling pretty self conscious. I’d been using the same products for quite a while and felt like spicing up my skincare routine.

So that’s when I started using the Pixi products and I found they were making a real difference in my skin.

Here is what I think of them:

My favourite product of the three, the peel and polish leaves my face feeling so f r e s h. Pixi made of all natural ingredients and the enzyme peel is made from fruit enzymes. The fruit enzymes loosen the dead skin cells, while the lactic acid gently exfoliates, the cellulose peels and the sugar extract polishes, leaving your face glowy. It’s a must-have for a pamper night.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find it so satisfying that I can physically see the dead skin peeling off. It just makes your skin feel so fresh and healthy.

The Glow Tonic from PIXI is an exfoliating toner, which helps to prevent dryness, tightens the skin and has anti-aging qualities. It basically removes dead skins cells, leaving your skin looking fresh, healthy and glowing. It’s made up of 5% Glycolic (which helps hydrate the skin), Aloe Vera and Ginseng (which help with the smooth application).

A huge bonus is that it doesn’t have alcohol in it. Having had quite a few problems with my skin in the past, being both sensitive and prone to acne, I try and steer clear of skincare that has alcohol in it. Simply because it’s breaks down the skins protective barrier that keeps moisture in and can stimulate oil production which can lead to breakouts (which is the opposite of what you want from skincare products!).

The flash balm is a fab-u-lous pick me up for tired skin. It just boosts your skin and adds a really smooth finish. One of the things I love most about it is that it is a 3-in-1, so acts as a moisturiser, primer and revitalising mask.

I really hate when you have used a moisturiser before applying your makeup and it just ends up looking cake-y and you have to start all over again. The rose balm just has a really lovely finish and is oil free so gets absorbed quickly – so there is no faffing around after applying it!

I hope you enjoyed reading and I’d love to hear what you use to keep your skin looking fresh and clear!

Bee xoxo
